Interview coaching, so that your interview is guaranteed to be successful! We’ll reveal the most important tips to you, from typical interview questions, the best answers to them, through researching the employer, to the question: “What should I wear for the interview on babysitting resume?”
Anyone who receives an invitation to an interview often has mixed feelings to contend with. On the one hand, you are pleased that you still have the chance to be accepted for the job. On the other hand, you already dread it when you think of the unpleasant situation in the upcoming job interview. But don’t worry.
Practice interview, tip 1: Clarify organizational matters before the interview
So that you don’t get into a hectic rush the day before because you are still missing one or the other important piece of information, you should take care of everything organizational in preparation for the interview.
1. Confirmation of the appointment: Regardless of whether by phone or email. Let the company know that you received the interview invitation and will accept it.
2. Travel expenses for arrival: With the confirmation of the conversation, you can ask about the assumption of costs. The employer is obliged to cover the travel costs incurred if he asks you for an interview. Unless he specifically ruled out paying for it in the invitation or job advertisement. In particular, if you need to travel further (more than 100 kilometers between your place of residence and your employer) to the interview, you should ask when you confirm the appointment for the interview how the travel expenses are covered.
3. How to get there and time required: Determine the way to the company in good time and always plan 40% to 50% more time for your journey. After all, you could end up in rush hour traffic or a traffic jam, the train is delayed or canceled completely. There are many variables when it comes to getting here that you, unfortunately, have little or no control over. A generous buffer in time planning can therefore prove to be useful. Also, find out in which room the interview will take place.
4. Application documents: Print out your application documents for yourself. You can take this with you as a reminder on the day of the interview so that you can look again at the most important messages of your application. For your opening monologue, it is helpful to memorize and name these messages in order to create recognition value for the HR manager.
Practice interview, tip 2: Gather information about the employer
As in the cover letter, you should have enough information about the company. This is the only way you can show your motivation for the employer and answer supposed questions about the company. Here’s what you need to know:
• What products or services does the employer offer?
• Who is in charge of the company?
• What is the current market position?
• Where are the services offered?
• Which trends / Are there developments in the industry and what innovations are in the pipeline for potential employers?
• Who are the main competitors in the market?
• What image does the company spread to the outside world through advertising and PR?
Use the employer’s website as the first point of contact for your research. You will usually find an “About Us” or “Company” section there. There is already a lot of information in this area that you can use to prepare for the interview. You can find further answers in the employer’s social media and in general industry media (blogs or magazines).
It is also advisable to read the job advertisement and your associated application again in detail before the interview. This means that you always have the requirements profile and the employer’s messages in your head and can thus prepare yourself specifically for typical interview questions.
